I don’t get it…
Maybe you have a small screen and didn’t see the quotation marks around “handsome,” “rich,” and “well-dressed” in the man’s dialogue box.
I saw the quotation marks…and she thinks I wish you didn’t use quotation marks?
He thinks she’s breaking up with him because he isn’t “handsome,” “rich,” or “well-dressed,” but it’s none of those things. She’s breaking up with him because of his inappropriate use of quotation marks. The joke is how can she see that he’s doing that? She’s not looking at him, so he can’t be making finger quotes. It’s funny because it’s a cartoon and we can see the dialogue with the quotation marks.
