AUTUMN FIRES
by Robert Louis Stevenson
In the other gardens
And all up the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!
Pleasant summer over
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
The gray smoke towers.
Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!

My mother used to read to we children from A Child’s Garden of Verses — this poem really took me back — to a good place. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for sharing this lovely poem! I thought you might be interested in my current project “Death Is No Bad Friend,” a short film about Robert Louis Stevenson in San Francisco (http://gegallas.wordpress.com/2013/10/16/coming-soon-death-is-no-bad-friend-indiegogo-campaign). Let me know what you think! Best regards, G. E.
