For the month of May, Silver Birch Press plans to feature poetry (original or erasure poems) where the word “may” appears. The word “may” can appear in the text and/or title of your original poem — or in the title, author, or subject of the book that provides the source for your erasure poem. Examples of source texts for erasure poetry:
AUTHOR: Louisa May Alcott, Maya Angelou, Rollo May, May Sarton, etc.
TITLE: May We Be Forgiven (A.M. Homes), What Dreams May Come (Richard Matheson), 7 Days in May (Peter Barnes), etc.
OTHER: Any other source where you can find the word “may” (for example, the lyrics to “Once in a Lifetime” by The Talking Heads).

HOW TO SUBMIT: Please send entries as MSWord attachments to silver@silverbirchpress.com along with your name, mailing address, email address, one-paragraph bio, and any notes about your creative process (send all of this in one MSWord document). For erasure poems, also send a jpg scan of the original erasure.
