NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: I wrote this poem right after I moved in on Jan. 1, 2016. I lived in the old apartment for six and a half years before. This is my first home.


ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Yi-Wen Huang is from Taiwan and Associate Professor of English and Linguistics at University of New Mexico-Gallup. She lived and attended universities in Long Island, New York, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on language and affect. Her hobbies include zumba, spinning, thrift shopping, EDM [electronic dance music], and traveling as a foodie and tea aficionado.
