In My What the Hell Hat
by Jennifer Lagier

I found it while browsing
in a funky Cambria boutique
while on a goddess getaway
for a week with two poet friends.

Tried it on, slanted wickedly
over one eye, loved the bad girl
looking back at me
from the fitting room mirror,
a perfect accessory for
my inner wild child, Camille.

I wore it that night as I sipped
multiple Rosarita Margaritas,
flirted outrageously with sexy guys,
on the outdoor patio at
Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill.

Blamed my naughty behavior
on the new What the Hell hat.
Felt my inner slut bloom.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: I have never really been a hat person, but when I discovered this racy little number while in Cambria with my two best friends, I had to have it. It possesses magical powers — erases my normal shyness and allows me to cut loose and have wild, pagan fun!
