EIGHT LINE POEM
by David Bowie

The tactful cactus by your window
Surveys the prairie of your room
Mobile spins to its collision
Clara puts her head between her paws
They’ve opened shops down West side
Will all the cacti find a home
But the key to the city
Is in the sun that pins the branches to the sky

CAT PEOPLE (Putting Out the Fire) Excerpt

Lyrics by David Bowie

See these eyes so green

I can stare for a thousand years

Colder than the moon, it’s been so long

And I’ve been putting out fire with gasoline.

Photo: David Bowie (flipped to show his green eye on the left) and Venus, the chimera cat Internet sensation. These two belong together.

Photo: Venus, the chimera cat (I’d explain what this is if I understood it) is the latest Internet sensation. Her owners (I mean caregivers) are making appearances on morning chat shows to prove that photos of Venus have not been photoshopped. I don’t know about you, but she kind of reminds me of David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust persona.
