The Mountains Forget and Remember
by Toby Speed

The mountains forget
the taste of a bad dream
heeding the call
of Its songs
that chord
The chatter of birds
their power
to awaken this wild through and through
with the passionate touch
of sun
green fields
wet orchards
warm ponds
all living
with hungry longing
